We Urgently Need Sunday Volunteers

We are currently seeking additional volunteers for Sundays.

Even volunteering one Sunday every few weeks can make a significant difference and helps us continue providing a great experience for our visitors.

If you’ve been thinking about volunteering, now is the perfect time to get involved or learn more about becoming a volunteer and its benefits with the Motor Museum of Western Australia.

Why Volunteer With Us?

The Motor Museum of Western Australia is proudly volunteer-run, with an incredible team of dedicated people who help welcome visitors, care for our collection, assist with displays, support events and keep the museum operating seven days a week.

Many of our volunteers choose to volunteer one or more days each week, becoming an important part of the museum community. Some also volunteer at other attractions throughout Whiteman Park, making the most of the many opportunities available across the park.

The Benefits of Volunteering

Volunteering is about much more than donating your time. It offers a range of personal and social benefits too.

As a Motor Museum of Western Australia volunteer, you’ll enjoy:

  • Becoming part of a welcoming and supportive volunteer community.
  • Helping preserve Western Australia’s automotive history.
  • Sharing your knowledge and passion with visitors from around Australia and the world.
  • Learning more about historic vehicles and museum collections.
  • Contributing to special events and exhibitions.
  • Building new friendships with people who share similar interests.
  • Gaining valuable experience and developing new skills.
  • Staying active, engaged and connected within the community.
  • The satisfaction of making a genuine difference to a not-for-profit organisation.

From a recent volunteer survey, a number of volunteer respondents mentioned that the friendships they make and the enjoyment they get from interacting with visitors are among the most rewarding parts of their role.

Flexible Volunteering That Fits Your Lifestyle

We know that everyone has different commitments, which is why we offer flexible volunteering options wherever possible.

Many of our volunteers enjoy spending one or more days each week at the museum, while others volunteer on a fortnightly basis or help with half-day shifts, particularly on weekends. Whether you’re retired, still working full-time, caring for grandchildren, planning a holiday or simply looking for a flexible way to give back, we’ll work with you to find a schedule that suits.

Our goal is to support our volunteers just as much as they support the museum.

No Previous Museum Experience Needed

You don’t need to be a mechanic or automotive expert to volunteer with us.

We’re looking for friendly, reliable people who enjoy helping others and are willing to be part of a team. Whatever your background or experience, there are a variety of volunteer roles that can match your interests and abilities, and we’ll provide guidance and support along the way.
