Tourism Accreditation

The Motor Museum of Western Australia is committed to delivering high-quality, inclusive, and sustainable visitor experiences

The Motor Museum of Western Australia participates in national accreditation programs that independently assess our business practices, accessibility, and environmental performance.

Being accredited signals to our visitors that we meet nationally recognised industry standards for safety, service, sustainability, and accessibility, and that we continuously improve against those standards.

Our Accreditations

Quality Tourism Accredited Business

The Motor Museum of Western Australia is a Quality Tourism Accredited Business under the national Quality Tourism Framework, accessed in WA through Tourism Council WA.

This accreditation demonstrates that we:

  • Meet nationally recognised standards for customer service, risk management, human resources, and environmental management.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant business and industry regulations.
  • Are committed to ongoing improvement and regular reassessment.

Sustainable Tourism (SUST)

We hold Sustainable Tourism accreditation as part of our Quality Tourism accreditation journey.

The Sustainable Tourism program is the foundational step in the Quality Tourism Framework and supports businesses to implement best-practice policies and procedures across operations and environmental management.

This accreditation shows that our business is independently assessed against national standards and is committed to ongoing improvement in sustainability and service quality.

Accessible Tourism

We have completed the Accessible Tourism program under the Quality Tourism Framework. This accreditation recognises our work to make the museum more welcoming and usable for people with disability, including visitors who are blind or have low vision, deaf or hard of hearing, have limited mobility, use wheelchairs or mobility scooters, or are on the Autism Spectrum.

Key features of our accessible experience include:

  • Step-free routes and ramped access from the car park to entry points, with clear signage from accessible parking bays.
  • Accessible entry doors (minimum 850mm width), low-threshold sills, and clear manoeuvring space at doors.
  • Even, glare-free lighting; contrasting colours on floors, walls, and counters; and clear, readable signage in sans-serif fonts.
  • Seating available for guests unable to stand for long periods, and wheelchair-accessible spaces in display areas.
  • Staff and volunteers trained in disability awareness, with procedures to identify and assist guests who may need additional support in an emergency.
  • Companion Card accepted; service animals welcomed with water bowls and a designated area near the entrance.
  • Website compatible with screen readers and meeting WCAG 2.0 standards; plain English information available for visitors with cognitive impairment.

You can view our full Accessibility Guide on the Quality Tourism Australia website or on our Accessibility and Inclusion page.

Tourism Emissions Reduction (TERC)

We have completed the Tourism Emissions Reduction program (TERC). This program helps tourism businesses measure, manage, and reduce their carbon emissions through structured reporting and targeted actions.

As part of this work, we have prepared an Emission Reduction Report that outlines our baseline emissions, reduction initiatives, and ongoing commitments to lower our environmental footprint.
