We continually review and improve the accessibility of our facilities and services. Below you’ll find an overview of access features currently in place, along with areas we are working to enhance.
Getting Here & Parking
- Accessible parking (ACROD) bay available in the adjacent carpark, very close to the entrance.
- Convenient drop‑off zone at the slip lane with no kerbs to navigate.
- Gentle gradients and level paths – no steep slopes at access points.
Entry & Front of House
Step‑free entry.
- Wide doorway with D‑shaped handle for ease of use.
- Clear circulation space and seating inside and outside for rest stops.
- High‑contrast entrance signage, including arrows to guide visitors.
Display Areas
- Wide pathways between displays, suitable for mobility devices and prams.
- Level access throughout.
- Ramps and stairs with grip tape, handrails, and non‑slip surfaces.
- Rest areas and benches spaced throughout the galleries.
Bathrooms
- Two accessible bathrooms onsite, each fitted with grab rails, backrests, low‑mounted sinks and fittings.
- Ambulant bathrooms also available.
Hearing & Vision Support
- Exhibits and signage are generally in high‑contrast fonts and avoid colour combinations difficult for colourblind visitors.
- Video content is being updated to include captions.
Assistance Animals
We welcome assistance animals and guide dogs in all areas of the museum.

Clearly signed exits across both buildings.
