Tarmac West at Whiteman Park – Watch the Action live from the Motor Museum of Western Australia

On Thursday 18 September 2025, Tarmac West comes roaring into Whiteman Park as part of its four-day motorsport showcase. This prestigious event features rally-prepared cars tackling closed-road stages across Perth, including a high-speed run right alongside the Motor Museum of Western Australia – making our location one of the best spots to take in the action.
About Tarmac West
Tarmac West is one of WA’s premier tarmac rally events, bringing together a diverse line-up of competitors in everything from classic to exotic cars.
The Whiteman Park stages will see cars run twice east to west, then twice back the other way, giving spectators plenty of passes to enjoy. Cars start in 30 second intervals, from slowest to fastest, so you can really appreciate the performance difference as each competitor flies through.

Best Viewing from the Motor Museum of Western Australia

If you’re planning to watch the action from Whiteman Park, the Motor Museum of Western Australia car park (Car Park 11 – highlighted in red in the below image) offers one of the very best spectator vantage points. You’ll be close to the stage route and right by Shelter M, which provides shade and BBQ facilities. For easy access in and out of Whiteman Park on the day, we recommend parking at Car Park 7 (see image below), located behind the Whiteman Park Visitor Centre, just off Whiteman Drive East.
From here, you’ll be just a short walk to the Motor Museum of Western Australia itself (~200m), the on site café, and tram connections to the Mussel Pool spectator points.

Car park 9 will be unavailable on the day due to road closures (line marked in blue – image above) and the action will take place on the road marked in green.

Couple the Event with a Visit to the Motor Museum of Western Australia
While you’re here for the rally action, why not add the Motor Museum of Western Australia to your day out? Our doors will be open during the event, making it the perfect time to step inside and explore Western Australia’s premier motoring collection. We’re open daily 10am – 4pm where you can see more than 200 vehicles on display – from early motoring icons to racing cars, historic motorcycles, and even Daniel Ricciardo’s Formula 1 Red Bull RB10.
Coupling your rally viewing with a museum visit makes for a full day of motorsport, heritage, and high-octane culture. Plus, with our location directly on the viewing route, you won’t miss a moment of the cars competing outside.
Spectator Safety
A reminder that motorsport is dangerous. Please make sure you familiarise yourself with the official Spectator Safety Guidelines to ensure you enjoy the day safely, which are available on the Tarmac West website.
